Final Cut Pro provided us with a wide variety of interesting effects and transitions, which allowed us to experiment with our footage in a number of different ways. For example me and my decided to use the 'Red Green and Blue Filter' to create the sleek looking 'night vision' effect that we so desperately wanted. However, there were some effects that we discovered which we never would've thought to use in our thriller but ended up to aid us into achieving what we wanted to achieve in our thriller. An example effect would be the 'Bad T.V.' effect, which enabled us to explore the different ways of making our footage fuzzy and distorted, adding to the 'paranormal' and 'spooky' effect that we wanted.
We were also able to edit the live sound and the soundtracks from Garageband on Final Cut Pro. We decided to add in some of the audio transitions that Final Cut Pro provided in order to match the sound and make the sound synchronous with the footage that we had. An example of an audio effect that we used regularly is the 'Cross Fade' effect. This effect allows us to gradually increase or decrease the sound of the track in order to either create a smooth transition or a suspense feeling for the audience, when watching our thriller.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed working with Final Cut Pro because it allowed a great range of choice in effects, transitions, etc. that we were able to use in order to excel our thriller film into the heights that we felt it could achieve. Also despite the software being a little intimidating at first I still felt that it became very easy and quick to master, making it a huge help when I was editing parts of our thriller, therefore the software was a great pleasure to work with.
